Phil Moon
Phil Moon grew up between the shadows of Notre Dame and Studebaker, where Dyngus Day is a holiday and performing Polkas paid much better than rock’n’roll. Guitar was his fourth instrument after piano, cello and 5-string banjo. He saw Cream on April 3rd ,1968 and that changed everything. After playing professionally in the mid-1970’s, he mostly abandoned guitar while pursuing a successful career in the pro audio and musical instrument industry, working for companies like MXR, Yamaha, Alesis, JBL Pro and Lynx in Los Angeles. He resurrected his guitar playing adventures in the early 90’s and has continued to this day. In 2016, Carol and Phil retired, pulled up stakes and retired to Santa Fe. Here has played with the Road House Prophets, Long Gone and now the JB/EC Band and was a founding producer of the NM Platinum Music Awards.
In 1987 he met Eric Clapton at Oceanway Studio in Los Angeles. He forgot he had a camera in his pocket. Oh well, next time.
